You can participate in a citizen science project on plant biodiversity by identifying one plant from a picture using the Pedh Paudha App.

By simply photographing plants with your smartphone, you can identify them using Pedh Paudha App.
A botanist is not always available!

In addition to being a wonderful citizen science project, Pedh Paudha App allows you to capture and document plants around the world for the purpose of understanding the evolution of plant biodiversity and preserving it.

In addition to flowering plants, trees, grasses, conifers, ferns, vines, wild salads, and cacti (and many other types of plants), Pedh Paudha App offers a comprehensive guide to identifying and understanding all kinds of plants in nature.

As well as identifying cultivated plants (in parks and gardens), Pedh Paudha App can also identify a wide range of wild plants. There are lots of wild plants you can observe in nature, but you can also find them on sidewalks and in vegetable gardens that need to be inventoried by Pedh Paudha App users!

You will be able to identify a plant more accurately if you give Pedh Paudha App more visual information. Many plants look alike from a distance, and sometimes its only small details that distinguish two species of the same genus.

In order to identify a species, flowers, fruits, and leaves should be photographed first. In addition to thorns, buds, and hair, other details can also be helpful. It is also very useful to take a picture of the whole plant, but often this information is not sufficient to identify the plant with certainty.

About 10,000 species can be recognized by Pedh Paudha App at present. Even though were still far from the 300,000+ species on Earth, Pedh Paudha App is getting richer every day because of your contributions.

Contribute your own ideas! In the future, your observation may be added to the photo gallery illustrating the species in the application after being reviewed by the community.

New features and improvements have been added to the latest version of the Pedh Paudha App released in January 2023.
Genus or family filtering for recognized species.
Users with more skills (e.g., the number of species observed and validated by the community) receive more weight in data revisions.
-It allows you to re-identify observations you and other users have shared.
-A multi-flora recognition feature lets you search across all floras in the application, not just the one selected. When you are not sure what flora to look for, this is very useful.
-You can select your favorite floras so that you can access them more quickly.
-Images in galleries can be navigated at different taxonomic levels.
-Your observations will be mapped.
-There are links to many factsheets.
